Guess what! I’m writing a novel again. I’m really, really excited about this one.
This April (and probably this July too!) I’m participating in Camp Nanowrimo. For those of you who don’t know what Nanowrimo is, it stands for National Novel Writing Month, which takes place every November. People from all over the world attempt to write at 50,000 or more. I regularly take part in this.
Camp Nanowrimo is the same concept but a little different. It takes place every April and July, and in Camp, you can set your own goals. Maybe your goal is to edit your project that you worked on last November or maybe you just want to outline a new novel idea. You can set your own word count goal or number of hours you want to work on your project. You can even join cabins with other campers, just like real camp!
I joined the Valar Morghulis cabin with lots of other cool people from Booktube and Twitter. It’s great because we can chat about our projects and send each other support.
I’m working on a novel that I started last Nanowrimo, November 2016, but didn’t come close to finishing. It’s called The Great Expanse of Loneliness (for now anyway…I needed a title) and it’s been taking up a lot of space in my mind for the past two years. I need to get it out! It’s a literary, coming of age story about a girl who falls in love with the wrong person.
I will definitely be posting more about the novel throughout the year!
Are you doing Camp Nanowrimo? If so, which month? What are you working on? Let me know in the comments!
If you’d like to add me on the Camp Nanowrimo website, my username is: Yobago.
